RE: School Reopening Update

Dear Parents and Guardians;

To say this has been a challenging school year would be an understatement. We recognize that many of our parents, students, and staff have concerns about returning to in person learning. Soboba's PreSchool Administration as well as Soboba's Tribal Administration met and weighed the safety risks as well as the benefits to reopening Soboba's Pre-School. Although Riverside County has moved into the Red tier, which will allow the reopening of schools with modifications, the risk for an outbreak is still with us. We have decided that distance learning will be extended through the end of the 2020-21 school year. We understand that many will be disappointed because you were hoping for a return to in person instruction. We took these feelings into consideration, but in the end, this decision will bring a greater measure of certainty to our families while continuing to keep the health and safety of our students and staff as the highest priority.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this trying time. We believe that this will allow Soboba's Pre-School to be completely ready for the coming 2021-22 school year with proper protocols in place to make the return to in person learning as seamless as possible. We fully anticipate the school to open with the new normal in place this August.

As always we will continue to keep you posted as additional details become available. You may contact our front office with any questions and concerns Mon-Thurs from 8am-3pm.
